A1 – Beginner (Basic User)
At this level, learners have a very limited knowledge of English and can only understand and use familiar words and simple phrases. They can introduce themselves and others, ask and answer basic personal questions (e.g., where they live, who they know, and what they own). Communication at this stage is extremely simple and relies on slow, clear speech and gestures from the listener.
- Listening & Speaking: Can recognize and understand commonly used words and expressions when spoken slowly and clearly. They can engage in basic conversations with a supportive speaker who is willing to repeat and rephrase.
- Reading & Writing: Can read and comprehend short, simple sentences about everyday life. Writing is limited to filling out forms, writing names, and using basic sentence structures.
